JIM GLEICH STOPPED BY MY HOUSE AND DROPPED OFF THIS SPECTACULAR PICTURE OF THE DINING ROOM AND MAIN HOUSE DURING A COLD WINTER IN VERMONT.

Here we have a classic picture of John "Winnie" Winston, who was the counsellor of the 1976 bunk 9 Juniors. Pictured from left to right, (bottom) Jon Cohen, Rich Kirsch, me, Bobby Abrams, Rob Reger, Kevin Ansell (top) Rodney Rutenberg, Steve Nadler, Scott Chalk, Mark Hornstein, Jon Goodman.

Pre-camp : This is what the boys counsellors do during pre-camp inside the quonset hut. Jim Gleich, keeping his distance from Mike Penner, Craig Zinader, Rich Kirsch, "Tootsie", me, Andy Kaplan (old), Jon Silver, Andy Woodhead, John Yarwood, Rich "goal post" Coplevitch, and Rob Reger.

Men in skirts : A classic picture of Jeffrey "Barfly" Mertz and Mike Toye doing the famous song, "I can't Dance" at a counsellor show. (Mertz really fills that skirt out well) He liked it so much that he decided to wear the skirt all the time.

99 cent cigars : A snapshot from 1990 of Mike Rolnick, Evan "Ice Ice Baby" Heisler, me, Eddie Kessner, and Bruce Rutenberg.

Do you remember the midgets ?? This was a popular act at the evening activity campfires. Andy Baum with guitar, and I can remember Rob Perilson and Scott Einzinger are two of the midgets.

Here we have Richie Dahlgren taking a crack at the ball. For those of you who don't remember Richie, he was probably the most important person who helped camp flourish during his reign at the helm. Standing to his right is Phil Aronson and behind the plate is Pete Speigel.

Another Dunmorian from Bayonne, New Jersey. Here we have Mike Gott leaning on the canoes. This was taken on Visiting Day. He was always a major factor in why the counsellors used to always beat Keewaydin in basketball. (Did I mention he is from Bayonne ?)

Mr. Gary Gumper : Now this is a very interesting picture. Here we have Bruce Freidman, who put into effect, Sunday "wedgie" night in which most campers feared. He was also the "Gary Gumper" king, and usually left his mark on your leg, or legs !!!

THE END OF AN ERA: This disturbing picture was sent in by Paul Starke as he visited what used to be "camp". Years and years worth of history laying in ruins and being carted off into dumpsters. Demolished bunks 6 through 11, including the Main House. (sniff. .sniff)

Camp Dunmore counsellors hard at work on trip day. The Water Slides was always a favorite trip, and where else could you sit in a tube all day and paddle in a pool of urine. Here we have Bruce Isenberg, Andrew Arnovitz, and Jeremy Cohen carefully watching the Dunmore campers on this trip day. (ya right !)

As most Dunmore campers arrived at camp with an average of 3 trunks worth of clothes, these guys arrived at camp with just the clothes on their backs for 8 weeks. Here we have John Yarwood and Andrew "Woody" Woodhead in their first summer. If anybody knows the whereabouts of Woody, please call the main office.

Bunk 3 1982 : 1st Row: Phil Aronson, Andy Kaplan. 2nd Row: Seth Cohen, Mark Singer, Howard Erbstein. 3rd Row: TIM PUGH, Doug Reim, Mike Singerman, Matt Kelleher, Greg Platt, Robert Berlin, Roy Cadoff, ERIC GOTT.

Ahhhh, remember Calvi's ?? Stop in Middlebury and shop at the Ski House, and then pop into the Middlebury book store, then get your 5 dollar haircut, and then walk into Calvi's for some ice cream, mmmmmmmm those were the days. Thanks to Lorraine Breitman for this picture.

Banquet : I think this picture is the Most Improved Sailer awards. Thats Teddy "deep one" Baltuch with Steve Miller and Doug "crash" Imig with ?? . And standing next to them we have the Golden Dome Lutz.(no comment) Seated with headband on is Jimmy Newfield and next to him is Steve Greenfield.

Dunmore legend Danny Stone sent in these classic pictures from his collection when Dunmore was at its best. Color War 1982, the airplane drops papers out over the back fields and starts color war. Louis Miron looks on as campers run around collecting all the papers of the color war teams. Then, Craig Starke gives his approval of the color war break with a high five to Danny.

Day off group 1982, the Green Hornet: Danny Stone claims, "The greatest day-off group ever". From left to right we have Mark Taylor, Pete Speigel, Danny Stone and Isaac High. Nothing like jumping off the East Middlebury Bridge and heading off to grab some burgers at LaDukes in Brandon. Danny explains that these guys almost killed him once a week by jumping off bridges, finding swimming holes and jumping off rocks. First to jump off the bridge we have Isaac, and following him we see Pete Speigel. As if one wasn't enough, Mark Taylor and Danny Stone do a tandem jump off the bridge. Stone was just glad to be alive after the jump. Years later, Mark Taylor jumped off a high diving platform in a canoe !!

Stoned and High : Danny and Isaac went three years undefeated in the counsellor horse races, which is probably a Dunmore record. After camp, Isaac stayed with Danny for a while in the United States. Danny claims that he had to clean the hair out of his apartment for weeks from that Buckingham Palace guard hat head of hair.

These next series of pictures were sent in by another Dunmore legend who attended Camp Dunmore from 1971 - 1977. The guy that I am referring to is none other than Steve Mars. In this picture (Bunk 6 1971), we see Jack Levee with Jeff Antman on his shoulders, Steve (Zinny) Zinman, Evan Cohen, Eric Hipshire, Richie Soloman on his knee, and David Freeman.

Bunk 2 (1974) We can see a young Louis Miron with Jay Chester, Richard Belitsky with comic book, and some other bunkmates in which Steve cannot remember. During camp this year, Steve remembers watching Richard Nixon resign on Jay's portable television in August 1974. This was the only t.v. they watched besides the All-Star game which they watched on a television in front of Milts Singers cottage.

Bunk 4 (1972) Here we see Ty Connor, David Kaplan, Jeff Weider, Richard Belitsky, Louis (Hoppy) Hoppenheim, Eric Hipshire, and Steve Zinman.
